I originally started personal training at BAM approximately 6 months prior to COVID. Since I was not comfortable training around others, I focused on my nutrition as I learned through my nutrition coaching that change can be made in the kitchen… 80/20. Although I have not been able to make it back to the physical part of my training, I continue to focus on my nutrition and have been able to drop both pounds and clothes size. My one request was that I could still drink my glass of wine and have my chocolate chip cookie at night. I was taught how I could incorporate my favorite things and still reach my goals.

I have always loved being physically active. I’ve incorporated walking, running, spin class, yoga, Pilates, Body Pump and Beachbody into my previous routines. I’ve also done weight watchers in the past. None of these have given me the results I’ve wanted until I started weight training with Melanie. I started training with Melanie in November of 2019. Melanie met me where I was physically and talked to me about my goals. She then began writing my plan. I was about 150 lbs. then. I began using the Myfitnesspal app, eating better, cardio/HIIT on my days off and weight training. I am now 125 lbs., it’s not a quick fix and it took a while to see results, but they came. Weight training not only gave me the result I wanted, but I am now stronger, more confident, and push myself much farther than I ever have in the past.

I have been training and working out at BAM for about 4 years. Since working out here I am stronger and in the best shape of my life. I have gained so much strength and confidence. I used to struggle lifting the bar and now I’m lifting weight I never thought I’d be able to. Nutrition also used to be a big struggle for me. After joining BAM I have learned how to properly fuel my body for workouts and how to use nutrition to build my dream body. I no longer chase numbers on the scale, I chase PR numbers.
The staff and other members are so welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. When you walk into this gym, you instantly gain the biggest support system. Every workout is different/challenging and can be modified for every fitness level. Joining BAM was the best decision and has changed my life in so many ways.
Melanie has been my trainer and been by my side since day one. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She genuinely cares about the progress you make and knows how to push you. You want the type of trainer who is there to challenge you and get just as (or even more) excited than you when you achieve your goals…and that’s Melanie.

Not only am I the founder and owner of BAM, but I like to practice what I preach. Everyone’s goals are different and I can’t emphasize enough that this is not a one size fits all program… I cater to you. For myself, I want to be a well rounded athlete. I want to lift heavy, lose fat, and replace that fat with muscle. Not only do I train hard, but I also follow my own nutrition advice. This is not an easy process and the testimonies that you see on this page are incredible. When you learn how to fuel your body (you don’t need to workout to learn to fuel your body efficiently), the possibilities are endless.

Joining BAM was one of the best decisions I have made in the last few years. I was in a dark spot mentally and physically, but being around the gym community and how they continuously push and support myself and each other has helped tremendously. As well as helping with my mental health and physical health, working so with Melanie my Olympic lifts have all gone up 20+ pounds in the last 6 months, I had a general idea how to do the lifts, but having someone watch and able to break down my form to critique and fix was a game changer. Now I feel confident in all my life’s and confident in life.
